Dilan Markanday has joined Leyton Orient on loan for the remainder of the season after being recalled by Blackburn Rovers.
On Sunday, The Lancashire Telegraph revealed that Rovers planned to bring the winger back from Chesterfield to test him at a higher level. That has now been formally announced with his season-long loan being cut short.
Markanday scored six goals and registered three assists in 22 games for the Spireites. He had expressed a desire to stay with the Spireites but Rovers have opted to move him up a level to test him further. The winger joins Richie Wellens' play-off-chasing Os and could make his debut this weekend.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer but Rovers have the option to extend his deal by a further year. They will hope he can produce a similar output in League One and then can either sell him or reintegrate him into the first-team picture.
Markanday is a London lad, having been signed by Rovers from Tottenham Hotspur. Therefore, it's hoped that he will be able to quickly adapt to new surroundings and hit the ground running.
Jake Garrett is still expected to be loaned out before the end of the month. His spell at Bristol Rovers was cut short due to a lack of game time, as was Connor O'Riordan's. Neither are expected to play for the first-team this season.
