Kyle McFadzean is expected to leave Blackburn Rovers next week with Chesterfield leading the race to sign the defender, The Lancashire Telegraph can reveal.
The experienced defender was an unused substitute in Rovers' FA Cup third-round victory at Middlesbrough. McFadzean had expected to start but was named on the bench.
When quizzed why the 37-year-old, who hasn't started a game this season after signing a new contract in the summer, wasn't involved, Eustace hinted a move away could be in the offing.

It's understood that is likely to happen in the next few days, with McFadzean keen to play regular football. The defender left Coventry City 12 months ago with the same aim and made a huge impact, helping Rovers avoid relegation from the Championship.
Chesterfield are amongst the clubs in the queue for McFadzean's signature and they are his most likely destination. The defender is from South Yorkshire and therefore a move to a local club is thought to be preferable.
McFadzean has been a valuable asset in the dressing room but considering the player's desire to play, coupled with his age, Rovers will not stand in his way. Any move is likely to be a loan until the end of his contract, allowing the defender to decide his long-term future in the summer.
Rovers have signed Dion Sanderson to replace McFadzean and the Birmingham City defender can also cover right-back. Eustace said he would still like left-back cover this month, otherwise, all attention is on strengthening the top end of the pitch with a striker and left-winger.
Whilst Chesterfield may gain McFadzean, they are set to lose the services of Dilan Markanday, it's understood. The winger is set to be recalled and loaned into League One to Leyton Orient.
Richie Wellens' side were linked with a move last week and have formalised their interest. Rovers want to test Markanday at a higher level after he impressed in League Two and so will send him to Brisbane Road.
