UNBEATEN leaders Barnoldswick aim to take another giant step towards claiming the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League crown tomorrow on a day when their two closest rivals for the crown collide on what could turn out to be a pivotal moment in the season.

Matt Nutter’s Barlick bid to make it 18 games unbeaten when they welcome Edenfield to Victory Park – and they will also have eyes on events at Back Lane as third-placed Baxenden tackle second-placed Read.

That game promises to be a cracker as Baxenden look to bounce back from their shock loss at Edenfield last week.

Edenfield’s win at Back Lane lifted them up the table in what has been a disappointing season and they face a real test against Nutter’s men, who have stretched all before them so far.

Clitheroe recovered from the shock of being bowled out for 24 when they beat Cherry Tree last week and their clash with Padiham at Chatburn Road should be a good one.

Padiham make the trip with professional Chris Holt bang in form and they face their former pro Kashif Siddique in an always tasty clash.

Great Harwood warm up for Sunday’s big ECB National Twenty20 regional final with a home match with Settle and have a full strength side available for the Cliffe clash.

It’s the first game of a big weekend for Harwood as they then head over the Pennines to represent the Ribblesdale League in the regional finals T20.

They go to Oulton Cricket Club on the outskirts of Leeds on Sunday where they will play Great Ayton in the second semi-final of the day.

The first game sees North East Premier League champions Chester-le-Street face Methley of the Central Yorkshire League with the winners of each game then playing a final.

The winners of the day will then move on to the National quarter-finals.

Harwood are running a coach to the game and anyone interested should contact the club.

Cherry Tree are led by Andreas Sudnik as skipper Mark Hadfield is away as they travel to Salesbury, while Earby and Ribblesdale Wanderers meet in what should be a good game at The Applegarth and Whalley head to Oswaldtwistle Immanuel.

Saturday fixtures: Barnoldswick v Edenfield, Baxenden v Read, Clitheroe v Padiham, Earby v Ribblesdale Wanderers, Great Harwood v Settle, Oswaldtwistle Immanuel v Whalley,Salesbury v Cherry Tree
