A COMFORTABLE 12 point haul sent Chorley to the top of the Northern Premier Cricket League.

A facile victory over Blackpool by eight wickets at Stanley Park took Chorley to the summit and they now hold a two-points lead over Darwen, who moved up into second place after their comprehensive 15 points win over Fleetwood at Birch Hall.

Blackpool were always in trouble against the Chorley bowlers, professional Stephen John capturing four wickets and Ross Demming three as the seasiders were shot out for just 56.

Although batsman-in-form Tom Smith failed to score, Chorley cantered to a quick victory finishing on 58-2.
