LEIGH Cricket,Tennis and Bowling Club Juniors had four players selected to represent Lancashire in a County fixture against Merseyside at Rainhill.
They were Thomas Davies, Craig Gornall, Matthew Lee and Stewart Thompson. Craig and Matthew were reserves and Stewart played at No 4 and Thomas played at No.11. Stewart won his game 21-18 and Thomas won his game 21-19.
The manner in the way that Thomas won his game made the officials decide that his performance merited the man of the match award. Considering this is Thomas's first season representing Lancashire Juniors, and he is just 12 years old, it is an outstanding achievement. Thomas also plays for Tyldesley Subscription Bowling Club in the Leigh and District Midweek Bowling League.
