WORSLEY Cup winner Andrew Payne has another honour to add to the board this week.

He is the Lancashire Evening Telegraph/Surridge Cricketer of the Week following his man of the match display in Rawtenstall's stunning Worsley Cup final win over East Lancs on Sunday.

His score of 60 contributed to a vital opening stand with Chris Cook-Martin, then Payne went for just 31 runs in 10 overs and took a wicket for good measure as home side East Lancs were skittled out for just 89.

Payne is the second name in the running for the August Player of the Month award, but for the weekly prize he gets a tracksuit courtesy of Colne-based Cricket manufacturers Surridge.

Monthly winners collect Surridge pads and gloves and the Player of the Year gets a top of the range bat worth £200.

The awards are available to amateurs in the Lancashire League, Ribblesdale League and Darwen and Chorley in the Northern Premier League.
