SOME of the biggest names in comedy have been lined up for the 2004 summer season on Blackpool's North Pier.

Phoenix Nights star, Dave Spikey, fresh from his massively successful 'Overnight Success' tour will appear at North Pier on Saturday nights throughout the summer.

Dave said he was delighted to be playing North Pier: "It's legendary. If you are from the North, then it's the place in Blackpool to perform -- the Palladium of the North."

The shows, which take place every Saturday from June 5 to July 10, are sure to sell out.

But the laughter doesn't stop after the weekend. Frank Carson brings his All Star Show, featuring Jimmy Cricket, Susan Maugan and Blackpool's very own Jeff Lee to North Pier.

Frank promises a 'cracking' show full of laughter and music.

Joining him will be another instantly recognisable Irish comedy legend, Jimmy Cricket, whose gift is to make audiences laugh before he even cracks a joke.

And there's more, as Frank and Jimmy are joined by Susan Maugan, famous for 60s hit, Bobby's Girl, who brings her musical talents and award-winning style to the show.

They are joined by Blackpool's very own Jeff Lee, who returns to the venue where he has become a big favourite since making his debut standing in for Russell Watson in 1996.

Jeff will be backed by the Emmi Jay Showtime Dancers.

This not-to-be-missed star extravaganza runs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 1 until July 8. Tickets are price at just £12.50 for adults, £10 for seniors and a special offer for free kids tickets for every performance.
