A Lancashire nightclub has said that it is “absolutely devastated” after a fire ripped through the premises overnight.

Emergency Services rushed to Park Hall nightclub, in Charnock Richard, at 9.30 pm on Tuesday, April 7, after an inferno ripped through the offices above the venue.

However, in a statement released by the club, owners said that the club had sustained less damage than first thought, and that they will be looking to reopen in the near future.

A club spokesperson said: “We are devastated to share that there was a fire last night, located in the offices above our venue.

"While areas have been significantly affected, the nightclub itself has sustained less damage than was first thought.

“We will look at beginning restoration as soon as possible and hope to reopen in the near future.”

Park Hall owners also thanked the hotel staff and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for their swift response, which prevented further destruction.

Ten fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms were at the scene overnight, with images from the scene showing large flames coming from the building, which is in a complex alongside a leisure centre and gym just off the M6.

A spokesperson for Park Hall and Spa said: "Following the recent incident at Park Hall nightclub, we would like to reassure our guests and community that Park Hall Hotel and Spa remains safe and has not been affected.

"We are incredibly relieved that everyone is safe, and our thoughts are with all those involved.

"We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the emergency services and local council for their swift and professional response, as well as to our own dedicated team, whose calm and immediate actions ensured the safety and well-being of our guests.

"We are also truly grateful for the support and concern shown by our community during this time.

"We are pleased to confirm that the hotel is fully operational and open for business as usual, and we look forward to continuing to welcome our guests."

An investigation into the blaze was launched this morning, after crews put out the fire.
