You might have visited the Inn at Whitewell for a sophisticated wedding or a tasty lunch - but did you know it has hosted royalty and comedy legends?
The Inn at Whitewell in the Ribble Valley has had a host of famous visitors over the years and is arguably one of the biggest celebrity hotspots in the East Lancashire.
The 14th-century inn is renowned for having once hosted the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
They had a pub lunch there in May 2006 to celebrate the Queen’s 80th birthday.
The pair dined on cottage pie, apple crumble, and Lancashire cheese.
The pub also closed in 2025 for a private royal event which included a visit from the King.

The inn also gained national fame as the first filming location in BBC Two's The Trip (2010).
The series starred Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as themselves and saw the pair perform their famed Michael Caine impressions over a lunch.
But the Inn at Whitewell is not the only pub in East Lancashire to be graced by a celebrity.
In Rawtenstall, famous faces also visited Mr Fitzpatrick’s Temperance Bar too.
Dom Joly visited the bar in an episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, which aired in 2021, and it was also used in the BBC show The Hairy Bikers Go North, where Si King and Dave Myers sampled some drinks.
The Talbot in Burnley, which is closed, has also been visited by a very famous musical group.
Def Leppard performed at The Talbot pub as part of filming for Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger.
The band reportedly played Rock of Ages and Photograph, which meant it was the band's first performance in Burnley.
The original Bank of Dave (2023) starred Rory Kinnear, Phoebe Dynevor, Joel Fry, and Hugh Bonneville, with Burnley locations including Turf Moor and Manchester Road.
