The Queen’s funeral took place yesterday and since her death we have been looking back at the times when she visited the county.

Back in May 2006, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited The Inn at Whitewell, near Clitheroe.

They visited Dunsop Bridge and watched a cow having its feet trimmed at Radholme Laund Farm.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh then had a birthday celebratory lunch for the Queens 80th birthday at The Inn.

Staff spent weeks preparing a five-course meal for her 80th birthday, which took place the month before.

At the time head chef Jamie Cadman said they had to change their first menu as it contained garlic, which the Queen disliked.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "The original menu included wild garlic but she's not too keen on garlic so we had to change that.

“They gave us the go-ahead on the second menu which was good.

"We try to keep the produce as local as possible and the beef from the farm she had just visited.

"It is the first time I have cooked for royalty. What I do is always of a good standard but speed was more of a worry because it was a tight schedule."

The menu included:

Goosnargh corn-fed chicken lightly smoked with a wild rocket salad, horseradish relish and roast tomatoes.

Roast fillet of Burholme Beef, mini cottage pie, chateau potatoes, broccoli hollandaise and glazed carrots.

Lancashire apple crumble tart.

A selection of local Lancashire cheeses: Mrs Kirkhams Lancashire, Butlers Blacksticks Blue and Butler's Goosnargh gold double gloucester.

Whitewell's own blend of coffee.

Meal accompanied by wine: El Coto Blanco 2004 Rioja or Burgogne Pinot Noir 2002 Sea cave d'Bissey.

It’s not the only time the Queen has visited the county. She visited to Blackburn in 2014 and 1955, three years after she took the throne.

Hundreds gathered to watch her funeral today with millions watching the television coverage at home.
