An East Lancashire police officer has been barred after he was accused of false imprisonment and harassment, as well as possessing indecent images of children.
PC Sheraz Fatima-Ali, 22, of Fleetwood Road, Burnley, faced a misconduct hearing at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters in Hutton, Preston, on October 24 2023.
The misconduct hearing was chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Chris Rowley and the result was delayed as to not prejudice the outcome of court proceedings.
After being arrested on suspicion of the charges, he was released from custody on bail conditions to not contact the victim, something that he later went on to do.
It was also alleged that he was arrested on suspicion of making an indecent image of children.

Publishing the results, the force said: “It was alleged the matters aforesaid amounted to gross misconduct and to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in the areas of Honesty and Integrity, Discreditable Conduct and Orders and Instructions.
“The Chair found the conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour namely Honesty and Integrity, Discreditable Conduct and Orders and Instructions and amounted to Gross Misconduct.
“Had Former Police Constable 5181 Fatima-Ali still been a serving officer, he would have been dismissed. His details have been included on the College of Policing Barred List.”
The police barred list relates to staff members who have been dismissed from their role due to misconduct or serious performance issues, preventing them from working in policing again.
