The best school in Blackburn with Darwen is the second highest ranked state school in the country, new school rankings show.

The annual school league tables have been published for 2023, showing which schools in the borough are performing best.

A total of 24 institutions in the borough are included in the list, though for some the ranking may be misleading due to the schools being private or for children with special educational needs or disabilities.

Schools are ranked by their Progress 8 score, which shows how much progress pupils at a school made between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 2.

Our rankings also include the percentage of pupils at a school who achieved a Grade 5 (a strong C in old money) or above in their English and maths GCSEs.
