A bakery in Bacup has been given the seal of approval by Brassic cast members, after it was used as a green room while filming was taking place.

She said: “We have had the cast and crew in before, on weekend and in between filming, so they were already familiar with us.

“They were using our upstairs space as a green room.

“It was right in the center of where they were filming, so they could see what was going on and also get some down time.

“The producer said it was one of the nicest green rooms they had used.

“It was like having a group of friends around. They are as lovely as they seem and made themselves feel at home.”

Among the cast were Michelle, who plays Erin Croft, Joe, who plays Vinnie, Aaron Heffernan, who plays Ash, Bronagh Gallager, who play Carol Dennings, and beyond.

Danielle said she bonded with Joe, who suffers from bipolar disorder, and spoke to him about her postnatal depression.

She said: “I started this shop because I suffered badly from postnatal depression, so I decided to follow my passion.

“Joe is no stranger to mental health issues so we had a little bit of a connection with that.”

Danielle said the cast enjoyed the bakes and sweet treats, tucking into brownies and school cake.

The mum-of-two said she enjoys watching Brassic and hopes the cast’s visit will provide a bit of boost for business.
