Food hygiene inspectors have rated four eateries in Blackburn with Darwen in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated one eatery a four of five rating, one eatery a three out of five rating, one eatery a two out of five rating and one eatery a one out of five hygiene rating.

Sofra Turkish Cuisine at 29 Blakey Moor, Blackburn was given a score of four after assessment on February 2, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The inspection report states both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building are ‘good’ whilst the management of food safety is ‘generally satisfactory.

The Olde Cotton Mill at 184 Shear Brow, Blackburn was given a score of three after assessment on February 6.

The inspection report states the cleanliness and condition of facilities of building is ‘good’ whilst the hygienic food handling and management of food safety are ‘generally satisfactory’.

Waffles & Chill, a takeaway at 1 Borough Road, Darwen was given a score of two after assessment on January 30.

Both the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety were rated ‘generally satisfactory’ whilst ‘improvement is necessary’ for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

Finally, Curry Palace, a takeaway at Ground Floor, 44 Railway Road, Darwen was given a score of one after assessment on January 26.

The inspection report states ‘improvement is necessary’ for both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building whilst ‘major improvement is necessary’ for management of food safety.
