Food hygiene inspectors have rated 14 eateries in Burnley in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated 10 eateries a five out of five hygiene rating, three eateries a three out of five rating and one eatery a two out of five food hygiene rating.

Finsley Gate Wharf Ltd, Burnley, Lancashire was awarded a five after inspection on February 28.

The inspection report states the eatery is ‘good’ in all areas.

Olivers At the Empire (Starvin Marvin) at 121 St Jamess Street, Burnley, was rated a five after inspection on February 21.

The eatery was rated ‘good’ for both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and rated ‘very good’ for the management of food safety.

The Boot Inn at 18 St James's Street, Burnley, was rated a five on February 28.

Both the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety are ‘very good’ whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building is ‘good’.

Sandwich City at 10 Lowerhouse Lane, Burnley was rated a five on March 2 and inspectors said it is ‘good’ in all areas.

Serrano's Deli-Pizza at 46 Church Street, Padiham, was rated a five after inspection on March 2.

The inspection report states both the management of food safety, and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building are ‘good’ whilst the hygienic food handling is ‘very good’.

Holloway's Fish & Chips at 2 Towneley Street, Burnley, was awarded a five on February 28 and was rated a ‘good’ in all areas.

Another eatery to recently be awarded a five is Magic Buffet at Office Market Hall, Curzon Street, Burnley, which was rated on February 22 and inspectors also rated it ‘good’ in all areas.

Mum's Goods at BB10 was awarded a five after inspection on February 17.

Inspectors rated the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building ‘very good’ and both the hygienic food handling and management of food safety ‘good’.

Also rated a five is W.H. Oddie Ltd at 62 The Mall, Burnley, which was inspected on February 15.

Both the management of food safety and the hygienic food handling were rated ‘very good’ and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was rated ‘good’.

Finally, Yummy Yummy Italia at 19 Croft Street, Burnley, was awarded a five on February 15 and rated ‘good’ in all areas.

Inspectors have also rated three eateries a three out of five rating, this includes Zam Zam Grill House at 39-41 Brougham Street, which was rated on February 3, Mill Town Pies at 392a Colne Road, which was given the score after assessment on February 6 and Park Life Café at The Old Stables Restaurant, Towneley Park, which was given the score after assessment on February 13.

The inspection reports for both Mill Town Pies and Park Life Cafe states they are both ‘generally satisfactory’ in all areas.

Finally, a Burnley restaurant has been handed a new two-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Planet Pizza at 45 Croft Street, was given the score after assessment on February 9, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The inspection report states ‘improvement is necessary’ for both the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building whilst the management of food safety is ‘generally satisfactory’.
