A business in Rishton is remembering loved ones with the community this month as they ask residents to share memories on their Christmas tree.
Cian’s Comforting Creations are bringing Christmas to Rishton by inviting residents across the area to come together and share their memories of loved ones.
The art and crafts store decided to set up the initiative as while they know Christmas is a joyous occasion, it can be tough for many people.
The family business run by Victoria Proctor, Kavaugn Proctor, Mark Allen and Anya Rya, said: “Here at Cian’s Comforting Creations, we have decided to honour all our loved ones by erecting a Memorial Christmas tree outside 62 Spring Street.

“We decided to do the memorial tree because we want to give back to the local community where we can and as honouring our loved ones, especially at Christmas, is important to us, we thought we could give the opportunity for the local community to do the same.
“People can get involved by simply placing a memory on the tree, whatever they consider as a memory is completely fine.
“If people are struggling to waterproof any memories, if they post them through our letterbox, we will waterproof them and ensure they are on the tree the following day.
“The response has been a little slow but as far as we’re aware, this has never been done before in this section of Rishton and anything new always takes a little time to take off.

“We welcome everyone to come and join in and hang a memory on our memorial tree and help bring a bit of festivity to Spring Street and Rishton.”
The family said to make sure that any memories are waterproofed with either Sellotape or lamination and don’t put expensive baubles on the tree as they cannot guarantee they won’t be damaged.
Cian’s Comforting Creations said: “Although Cian’s Comforting Creations is a business, we do hope to be able to give back to our local community and bring smiles to people’s faces where we can.
