COMEDIAN Russell Brand paid a visit to a Lancashire coastal town on Monday and even braved one of our iconic rollercoasters.
Russell took a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach where he enjoyed a ride on the UK’s first double launch coaster, ICON.
This was all before his stand-up gig at Winter Gardens.
Posting to their Instagram page, Pleasure Beach shared a photo of Russell standing in front of ICON along with the caption: “Pleasure to have the ICON @russellbrand brave ICON 😆 Have a fantastic show this evening!”
In another short video clip, we see the ride pulling away with Russell in the front cart, showing a nervous face to the camera.
On his own Instagram page, Russell hinted that his entire ride experience had been filmed asking his 2.9 million followers if they “want to see the whole ride”.
“Had to be done,” he posted later along with snapshots of himself smiling on the ride.
A Blackpool Pleasure Beach spokesperson said Brand was eager to return to the amusement park and try more rides.
They said: “Russell braved the UK's first double launch coaster, ICON, at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, on Monday 23rd May, before heading to the next venue as part of this UK stand-up tour called 33.
“Brand said he'd love to come back and enjoy more rides.”
Russell isn’t the first celebrity to have visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach with Peter Kay, Tyson Fury and others joining the list of famous visitors.

Brand’s critically acclaimed ‘33’ tour stopped off at Blackpool's Winter Gardens on Monday.
The show has been described as "more than a hilarious stand up show" but also "a celebration of our return to freedom and a look at our shared, imposed insanity during the last two years."
It is split into two comedic and one meditation segments and audiences are told to expect "lots of politics, sociocultural analysis, chaos and laughter".
Taking to Twitter after the show, many expressed how much they enjoyed it.
One person said: “Best gig I have been to in ages.
“Joking but not joking about the shenanigans of last two years. Great meditation session and beautiful warm hug to end the evening.”
Another said: “Fabulous show from in Blackpool tonight. Well done sir, you are and remain an inspiration.”
“Worth coming up to Blackpool for, laughed until I cried and cried a bit more,” said a third.
