Blackburn’s AJ Odudu is channeling her ‘inner Whitney Houston’ ahead of tonight’s (09 October) Strictly Come Dancing live show.

This week is movie week and the contestants will dancing to some iconic film soundtracks.

AJ and her professional dance partner, Kai, will be dancing the American smooth to I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston from the 90s movie, The Bodyguard.

AJ posted a dance update to her followers earlier today.

She said: “Hello! I’ve not checked in over the last few days because we have been busy working on this dance.

“It’s been a lot, I’m not gonna lie.”

She added: “But today I’ve put on my leg warmers, put on my bob, channelled Whitney, and here we are – absolutely battered.”

She then panned the camera over to her partner, Kai who looked exhausted and can be seen lying on the ground.

“I’ve broken him. Mwahahah,” she said.

However, the dance clearly seems to have exhausted AJ too as Kai later posted a video of AJ asleep in a vehicle.

AJ also posted a selection of photos to her Instagram grid. One picture show her rocking some leg warmers while posing in a dance studio.

In the next humorous picture, the bodyguard movie poster is show with Kai and AJ’s heads photoshopped over the top of it.

In the Instagram post, AJ wrote:

There's work still to be done but the progress with this week's dance is finally happening and it's all thanks to @kaiwidd AND my leg warmers!

“Yes, I've been channelling 90's Whitney all practice and it's actually helped me push through. PHEW!

Kai commented: “Mainly the leg warmers”

“The second slide is literally EVERYTHING,” said another, in reference to the photoshopped poster.

Another person said: “Good luck AJ. You're stunning and your personality is addictive!”

AJ is currently favourite to win the dancing competition, according to Betfair’s odds.

AJ and Kai came top of the leader board with their jive on week one. Their week two foxtrot to  Amy Winehouse’s song, tears Dry on Their Own, also impressed the judges.

You can watch Strictly Come Dancing tonight. It airs on BBC One at  6:45pm.
