THE second week of Strictly Come Dancing live shows are behind us and Eastenders actress, Nina Wadia, was the first to be eliminated.

Betfair bookies have also updated the latest odds for the show – and two Lancashire contestants came out on top.

Blackburn presenter, AJ Odudu is the new 2/1 favourite to win Strictly after ‘wowing’ the judges for the second week in a row.

Her foxtrot didn’t secure her a place at the top of the leader board this week, but her impressive week one jive is sure to remain in the minds of judges.

Before the show began AJ was in the middle of the pack when it came to bookies’ odds

She had 12/1 odds of winning – the same as Robert Webb and Rhys Stephenson.

Chorley-born John Whaite also has impressive odds and is currently second favourite to win with 3/1 odds.

Before the live shows, the same online gambling company put him an outlier with 14/1 odds of winning.

Despite topping the leaderboard, Tilly Ramsay is 33/1, while another strong performer on Saturday, Rhys Stephenson, is 12/1.

Katie McGlynn, having survived the dance off against Nina Wadia, is 80/1 to win, bringing up the rear alongside actor Greg Wise.

Back in September, the favourite to win was Mcfly lead singer, Tom Fletcher.

However, he has fallen from grace and his temporary absence due to Covid isolation last weekend may have cost him.

Fletcher is seventh on the list at 16/1.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "After the excitement of the first eviction at the weekend, the Strictly odds market has seen a shake-up, with a new 2/1 favourite installed in the form of AJ Odudu, who has hardly put a foot wrong in her two dances to date.

“But she has stiff competition from John Whaite at 3/1 and Rose Ayling-Ellis at 10/3 - although having topped the leader board, Tilly Ramsay is still 33/1 to lift the Glitterball trophy."
