A SHOEMAKER from East Lancashire has bowled over another sporting giant with his top-quality footwear.
Marco Varghetti and Whalley-based LANX Shoes already had Burnley FC and Sale Sharks on their roster.
And now the ambitious outfit will be do fittings for the likes of Jimmy Anderson and Jos Buttler at Lancashire County Cricket Club in future.
First-teamers and staff have already been lined up at the Emirates Old Trafford ground so Marco could size up the task in hand.
He's developed a signature red rose shoe which county representatives will be able to wear while on official club business and at their leisure.
Marco said: "“LANX is a proud Lancashire company with international influence, characteristics we share with both the Lancashire Cricket players and club in general
"It is an honour to supply shoes to the elite squad of players and support staff."
Warren Hegg, the club's head of cricket business, cemented the deal with the Ribble Valley firm.
He added: "Lancashire Cricket is proud to work with local Lancashire based shoe company LANX.
"The players are delighted to wear the quality shoes LANX have provided, which feature the Lancashire county rose."
Meanwhile work is continuing on LANX's new store on the Mitton Retail Park, which is expected to be completed next month.
And the company has secured a concession at Manchester Victoria Station, where staff are on hand to showcase their wares now every Wednesday to thousands of passing travellers.
