HE may not be a superhero on a par with Batman – but villagers wanting to speak to Burtonwood’s community support officer only have to look for his sign!
Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council have donated £80 to CSO David Brownlee to buy a ‘police surgery open’ sign.
CSO Brownlee is now displaying the sign outside Burtonwood Library on Chapel Lane when he is available to discuss problems or issues in the community.
He said: “I wanted the sign to indicate to residents that I am holding a surgery or I am in the building and available to speak to residents.
“This sometimes would be ad hoc and I would be in the library at various days and times.
“Now I display the sign to inform people I am there and available for a chat either informally or in a private office. Although I do have a regular set surgery day and time I want to be there as and when, but this was impossible to advertise.”
