Archie Gray’s first appearance back at Elland Road since leaving for Tottenham over two years ago ended in defeat – but he was treated respectfully by Leeds fans.
Whites supporters can be notoriously unforgiving of their former players but Gray, a member of a family dynasty at LS11, avoided any boos or harsh treatment on his return.
The son of former Leeds striker Andy Gray and great-nephew of club icon Eddie Gray – brother Harry is on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and also came through the Thorp Arch academy – was an unused substitute in both top-flight fixtures last season.

The 20-year-old departed Leeds following Premier League relegation in 2024, joining Spurs for a reported fee of around £30million and the then teenager quickly established himself in their first team.
Operating out of his preferred position in midfield as a makeshift central defender in a struggling side, Gray won over the Spurs fans with a string of classy displays.
This season he has been predominantly been deployed as a right-back, but at Elland Road today was switched to midfield and turned in another accomplished performance for Roberto De Zerbi’s side – and was not booed once by the Leeds faithful.
