I WAS feeling a bit sore after a two-game weekend, but it was well worth the pain after Sunday's huge win over Whitley Warriors.

It was our biggest win of the season - in front of our biggest crowd.

And after what was pretty much a four-point game, taking two points and taking two off our nearest challengers, we are now nine points clear at the top.

We're in a really good position, which is ours to lose now having played the four games against Whitley and taking more points from them than they have from us, with two wins and a draw.

Different teams have beaten them this season, so that could potentially happen again, depending on how they react. It could either inspire them to kick on, or they might be a little bit deflated by it.

But all we have to concentrate on and care about is ourselves, and keeping the right mentality and consistency.

Sunday's win came on the back of a comfortable 15-2 rout at Sheffield Spartans on Sunday. But it's not been easy over the last few weeks with the injuries we've had.

There have been games when we've been down to 3D, more recently 4D, and we've just got back to 5D, so it's been tough. But it's just been a case of wanting it and having the desire to go on and win the league again, even with quite a few new players this year. They seem to have gelled quite well and got the Blackburn bug.

We had to work hard for it on Sunday, going 2-0 down in a first period in which we were poor.

Whitley came out hard, while we just seemed to be lacking something, and it was 3-1 after the first 20 minutes.

A few stern words at the break worked as we responded with three unanswered goals - one in the second period and two in the third; the last with three minutes to go.

It was a great game to play in, against our biggest rivals and in front of our biggest crowd.

The official number was 1,100 but I'm convinced there was nearer 1,500. It was certainly the loudest I've hard it all year, and that helped us massively with the comeback. We knew we were just going to go on and get the winner. It had that feel about it.

Fans afterwards were saying it was the best game and atmosphere they'd ever experienced, and that's great to hear from them.

Next we're off to Solway Sharks, who have picked up some good points recently so it's not going to be easy. We just have to play our game.
