Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the defeat at Fulham.

Christian Walton 5

Nothing he could do about either of the two Fulham goals, but didn’t look all that convincing when coming off his line.

Elliott Bennett 7

Stood up well to the threat of Cavaleiro, including one excellent last ditch tackle. A couple of good deliveries in to the box created chances, but couldn’t prevent Bryan’s cross for the second goal.

Tosin Adarabioyo 7

Covered the ground well, and largely looked comfortable in possession, one first half slip apart. Promising start, but didn’t get much of a test in the air.

Derrick Williams 7

Largely handled Mitrovic well on his return to the side, but was disappointed by the second goal. Wants to be considered a centre half and on this showing, did his credentials no harm.

Amari’i Bell 5

Looks short of confidence on the ball. Found infield a little too often, allowing Knockaert chance to roam, but generally handled the winger well.

Lewis Travis 6

A strong first half in and out of possession, locked in a tussle with Arter. Another who couldn’t quite reproduce his first half levels after the break.

Bradley Johnson 6

Went close twice in the opening half, including a header inside 20 seconds. Walked a tightrope with the referee all game and his influence dipped as the game went on.

Joe Rothwell 5

Busy as ever, but most of his driving runs took him across the pitch, rather than towards goal. Delivery from corners a little disappointing.

Bradley Dack 7

Good signs in the first half, not least with the impressive way he was able to roll his marker. Kept plugging away, seeing shots deflected wide in each half. Dropping deep later on didn’t help.

Adam Armstrong 6

A promising first half in which he looked to have the beating of Bryan. Couldn’t quite find the right final ball and ran the ball out of play several times. Fired just wide with an effort from 20 yards.

Sam Gallagher 5

Headed wide on two separate occasions, but always offered a target for his side. Plenty of willing, but a little more quality needed to his approach play.

Subs

Ben Brereton (for Rothwell, 65) 5

Played off the left, but little by way of impact after coming on.

Stewart Downing (for Bell, 71) 5

Brought on at left back, but spent much of his time tracking back as Rovers were pushed back.

Danny Graham (for Travis, 74) 5

Provided with little to no service.
