Harry Chapman is set to feature for Rovers Under-23s at Kendal Town tonight (7.30pm).

Rovers have continued to monitor Chapman’s fitness throughout the close season and he has played in just one behind closed doors game so far.

He didn’t travel with the squad for games at Barrow, Mansfield or Rangers, but will be given some extended minutes when the Rovers youngsters travel to the Evo-Stik side.

Chapman, who re-signed from Middlesbrough in January, finished the season as a regular for the Under-23s to boost his fitness before making his second Rovers debut on the final day of the season against Swansea.

Scott Wharton and Joe Nuttall, who both haven’t featured since the Barrow win on July 6, are also expected to start.

Rovers sent a young side to Clitheroe last Thursday where goals from Stefan Mols and Jack Vale scored in a 2-0 win.

The majority of the Under-23s had played earlier in the day, against Macclesfield Town, and the team tonight will have a more experienced look to it.

Andrew Fisher is likely to start in goal, with Charley Doyle, Matty Platt, Lewis Thompson and Brad Lyons among those to be under consideration.
