Blackburn Rovers have signed Derby midfielder Bradley Johnson.

The 32-year-old becomes the latest new arrival at Ewood Park this summer after Stewart Downing was picked up after leaving Middlesbrough.

Former Everton man Joe Hilton has also been brought in to bolster the goalkeeping ranks and will initially link up with the Under-23s.

Johnson also arrives on a free transfer and has signed a two-year deal, the former Leeds and Norwich man bringing a wealth of experience to Ewood Park.

He made 140 appearances during his time at Elland Road before moving to Carrow Road on their promotion to the Premier League in 2011.

There he was a team-mate of Rovers midfielder Elliott Bennett and was a key figure when the Canaries returned to the top flight via the play-offs in the 2015.

He scored 15 goals in that season, including home and away against Rovers, making 154 appearances in total for Norwich.

Derby paid £6 million for his services in September 2015 and he has featured 140 times for the Rams, starting their play-off final defeat to Aston Villa in May.

Johnson will train with his new team-mates on Friday ahead of the opening friendly against Barrow on Saturday.
