Rovers and Stanley will learn their Carabao Cup first round opponents on Thursday.

The EFL have announced the draw will be conducted by former England internationals John Barnes and Ray Parlour at 7pm.

Seventy teams will be included in the draw, which will be unseeded with a northern and southern split.

Huddersfield Town, who finished bottom of the Premier League last season, will enter at the first round stage, with the other two relegated sides, will join in round two, alongside Premier League clubs, such as Burnley, who aren’t in Europe.

The draw will take place at a Morrisons Store in London, close to Wembley Stadium which will once again host the final.

Matches are set to be played in the week commencing Monday, August 12 after the first two rounds of EFL fixtures.

Rovers and Stanley will also learn their fixture list on Thursday morning (9am).

The draw has been on something of a worldwide tour since Carabao took over the sponsorship, with Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City hosting it in 2018/19.

Rovers reached the third round last season, beaten by Bournemouth after wins over Carlisle and Lincoln, while Stanley were beaten in round one by Mansfield.
