Rovers fans watching last night's UEFA Nations League semi-final between Portugal and Switzerland may well have had a slight sense of deja vu.

Cristiano Ronaldo did he does best, scoring goals, his hat-trick helping to see of the valiant of challenge of Switzerland as the hosts booked their place in Sunday's final.

The third of Ronaldo's goals saw him pick up the ball in the inside left channel, work a yard of space after a series of step-overs before bending the ball in to the far corner.

It was an excellent finish from the Juventus frontman, and lauded on social media by the organisers who put it in line for their goal of the tournament.

But the Sky Bet Championship Twitter account, picked up on this, and like Rovers fans who had already pointed it out, showed that Adam Armstrong had already netted a similar strike.

It was late on in what had been a dour game at The New Den in January when Armstrong came off the bench to set up the opener for Joe Nuttall and score an excellent solo goal to top off the victory.

So who did it better, Ronaldo or Armstrong?
