Season ticket sales have topped 2,000 and chief executive Steve Waggott hopes to see the figure pass 10,000.

Waggott has set the target in a bid to boost revenue streams at the club, with prices having been frozen from last year’s early bird period. There will be no price increase, or sale phases, with the prices same for new and existing season ticket holders.

Adult prices start from £319 in the RFS Riverside Stand, with tickets in the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End, Family Stand and Jack Walker Stand Lower Tier available for £349. Prices in the Jack Walker Upper Tier have been held at £399 in the wings and £449 in the central areas.

Discounts are available for over-65s, under-18s, under-12s, while under-8s go free in the family stand. The young adult category has been extended to include 18-25 year-olds.

Rovers sold fewer than 9,000 season tickets last season, but Waggott is hoping to top that figure and reach 10,000 this time around.

He said: “The target was probably 9,000 – 9,500 last season and we got 8,750.

“We added a few with the half season tickets in January, a couple of hundred, but we didn’t get to where I hoped.

“We have to target 10,000 sales which would be phenomenal.

“To save your seat will be until the end of June and that’s when the real spike comes.”

Fans have until July 1 to reserve their season ticket seat from the campaign just finished, while the club have also announced their club cash scheme will continue in 2019/20, with benefits on offer for buying a season ticket early.
