Craig Conway wants to remain in the Championship – despite turning down Rovers’ offer of a new deal.

Conway revealed at the weekend he would be turning down the chance to stay at Ewood Park and leaving after five-and-a-half years.

The 34-year-old started nine Championship games for Rovers this season as well as making nine substitute appearances.

The winger featured 26 times in all competitions and has been a mainstay of the Rovers side, making 200 appearances in all, since joining from Cardiff City in January 2014.

A former Scotland international, Conway started his career with Ayr United before sealing a move to Dundee United in 2006.

He was a Scottish Cup winner with the Tannadice Park side in 2010, scoring twice in the final, before moving to Cardiff City in the summer of 2011.

Since then, all but Rovers’ League One season of 2017/18, Conway has operated at Championship level.

And despite interest north of the border, Sky Sports are reporting that Conway is keen to remain in England, and the Championship should the opportunity arise.
