Rovers Academy graduate Adam Henley is on the look-out for a new club after leaving Real Salt Lake.

Henley made the move to the MLS side in January 2018 after six months without a club following his release from Rovers.

Now 24, Henley, who is yet to feature in the MLS this season, has mutually agreed his departure from the Utah-based club.

The full back appeared in five matches in 2018, two of those from the start, but has spent time this season on loan with Real Monarchs in the USL Championship division.

Real Salt Lake, sixth in the Western Conference after 13 games, announced the decision that Henley was to seek a new challenge on their club website.

General Manager Craig Waibel said: “We want to thank Adam for his time with the club and wish him the best in his next opportunity.

“This move is mutually beneficial as it allows Adam the opportunity to openly seek out a club where he might find more playing time to continue his development and also allows us the roster flexibility to potentially make additions to the squad in the summer.”

Henley made his Rovers debut in a Premier League fixture at Wigan in November 2011, the first of what would be 94 appearances.

He made his debut for Wales in 2015, one of two caps he has won, but he struggled with injuries before his departure, playing just three matches in 2016/17 before his release that summer.
