Rovers haven’t received any bids for David Raya and aren’t in talks with any club over the sale of their No.1.

News broke over the weekend that Championship rivals Brentford had identified Raya as a transfer target should their goalkeeping situation change this summer.

The Bees No.1 Dan Bentley has attracted interest and is in to the final 12 months of his current deal, as is No.2 Luke Daniels.

Raya was left out of Rovers’ final four games of the season, with Jayson Leutwiler preferred as Tony Mowbray weighed up whether to trigger the 12-month option in the 30-year-old's contract.

The Bees are thought to be identifying possible replacements for Bentley who has been a regular since joining from Southend in 2016.

And the 23-year-old Spaniard is thought to have been on that list, though Rovers insist they haven’t received any bids for Raya, or in talks over any possible move.

Raya has two years left to run on his deal at Ewood Park and will undergo surgery this summer on the facial injury sustained in the 1-1 draw at West Brom in October.

He is expected to start next season as Rovers’ No.1 as he closes in on 100 league starts for the club, though Mowbray is keen to add more competition to Raya and Leutwiler.

Andrew Fisher spent the final months of last season at National League North side FC United of Manchester and could be loaned out next season to gain further experience in the EFL.

However, Rovers will need to address the goalkeeping position in their Under-23s.

Fisher was a regular for Damien Johnson’s before leaving on loan, returning for the Lancashire Senior Cup win over Burnley.

Charlie Albinson, who replaced Fisher as regular stopper for the Academy side, has since been released while Ollie Byrne joined Stevenage in January, but has since been released.

Jordan Eastham is a second year scholar and could be handed the gloves on a regular basis next season having been on the bench at times this season.
