Danny Graham was the big winner at Rovers’ end of season awards night as he walked away with the top prizes.

The striker was voted as player of the year by the supporters, and recognised by the squad as he took the players’ player award.

Graham has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, 15 coming in the Championship, including a first hat-trick in 10 years against Sheffield Wednesday in December.

The striker triggered a one year extension in the contract he signed last summer which will keep him at Ewood Park for at least another 12 months.

And he has played an influential role this term, starting 36, and featuring in 42, of Rovers’ 45 league games and is just one shy of the goals tally he managed last term. He has also chalked up his 150th league goal, and 50th in Rovers colours, during the course of the season.

Lewis Travis deservedly won the club’s young player of the year prize.

The 21-year-old, who looked set to leave on loan last summer, and in January, has established himself as first choice in the Rovers central midfield.

He scored his first senior goal in the weekend defeat at Norwich and has started 18 Championship matches this season, as well as a further seven substitute appearances, having graduated through the Under-23s.

Talking of the Academy side, his terrific work with the Under-23s saw manager Damien Johnson win the Unsung Hero award.

Harrison Reed, who has since returned to parent club Southampton for treatment on an ankle injury which cut short his season last month, was back in East Lancashire for the awards night.

And he will head back south with an award, named as best newcomer after impressing in his 36 appearances in which he scored three times.

One of those goals, an excellent curling effort at West Brom in October, was up for the club’s goal of the season award.

But that was won by Joe Rothwell for his magnificent effort in the win at Nottingham Forest last month which was a late addition to the competition.

Reed’s strike was the runner-up, with Bradley Dack’s effort in the New Year’s Day win over West Brom finishing third.

The other first team prize saw defender Darragh Lenihan collect an award for the most man of the match awards this season.

Elsewhere, club president Keith Lee, and wife Pat, were given a Special Club Award, while midfielder Jess Holbrook, who has helped Gemma Donnelly’s side secure a league and cup double, was named Ladies footballer of the year.
