Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his ratings after the 2-1 win at QPR.

Jayson Leutwiler 5

Didn’t look convincing under the high ball and did little to justify his selection over David Raya on what was just a third league start for the club. At fault for the QPR goal when beaten to the ball by Matt Smith.

Elliott Bennett 6

Given a tough afternoon by Osayi-Samuel who had the beating of him on plenty of occasions, though denied the winger a certain first half goal with good tracking to the front post. Fortunate to finish the game after being on the end of a shocking challenge.

Darragh Lenihan

Looks like a Rovers captain in waiting some thunderous tackles and towering headers. Deserved the clean sheet that almost arrived. His partnership with Williams looks set to continue. Took on the responsibility of marshalling the backline well.

Derrick Williams 8

One superb cross-field ball in the first half but it was his defensive work which came to the fore in the second. In the team on merit.

Amari’i Bell 7

Slipped when put through in the first half, and saw less and less of him as an attacking force in the second, but generally sound defensively.

Lewis Travis 8

Kept Rovers moving with a terrific display in the middle of the park and broke from his deep role to win the penalty. Unsurprisingly began to tire late on given the shift he had put in. Looks a definite first pick in the middle of the pitch.

Corry Evans 7

His tame shot almost put Rovers ahead early on, and he stood his ground in the middle of the pitch to keep his side in control.

Adam Armstrong 8

Had the quality of final ball at the end of some excellent runs down the right. His pinpoint cross led to the second Rovers goal from Dack and had a hand in the penalty. Had too much for makeshift full back Manning all game.

Bradley Dack 8

Timed his run to perfection for his 17th goal of the season. Was excellent in the first half and involved in all of Rovers’ good play, linking up with Armstrong and Rothwell. Saw a first half shot deflected wide, and almost turned in on the stretch early on.

Joe Rothwell 8

Is becoming a key member of this side with the balance he’s giving the side when coming off the line. A player who really looks to be enjoying his football and put in a shift defensively, including one excellent block from a Luongo shot.

Danny Graham 8

His penalty found a way beyond Lumley with a header going wide moments later. Got nothing from the referee but led the line with distinction.

Subs

Jack Rodwell (for Evans, 65) 6

Almost got his second goal for the club with a shot deflected wide. A sensible substitution at the time it was made.

Joe Nuttall (for Graham, 68) 5

Is struggling to have any real impact when coming off the bench.

Ben Brereton (for Armstrong, 85) 5

Had one promising run ended by good covering from Luongo. A clever foul late on to halt a QPR counter.

Subs: David Raya, Ryan Nyambe, Charlie Mulgrew, Richie Smallwood
