John Eustace is expecting 'a very physical game' against an 'experienced' Rovers side at Loftus Road today.
The interim boss, who is searching for a second win of his tenure, has praised the work of opposite number Tony Mowbray ahead of the meeting.
QPR will make checks on the fitness of defenders Toni Leistner (illness), Grant Hall (groin) and Angel Rangel (calf) but Burnley loanee Nakhi Wells could be passed fit to play.
Of Rovers, Eustace said: “No one is getting carried away with things and it will be an extremely difficult game. Blackburn are an excellent team and it is going to be tough.
“I want us to be competitive. Every game has different challenges and we have got to make sure that we are competitive in every game that we play.
“I’m expecting a very physical game on Friday. Blackburn have an excellent manager and a lot of experienced players who have been together for a long period of time.
“It was a tough game up there and it is going to be just as tough at our place.”
Eustace added: “There is a bit more confidence in the squad now and training has been good this week.
“We have got a couple of injuries and illnesses in the camp but nevertheless the lads have been fantastic.
“Their attitudes have been brilliant and we are looking forward to Friday.”
