Bradley Dack will train today before a decision is taken on his likely involvement against Derby County at Ewood Park.

Top scorer Dack missed the weekend defeat to Stoke City with a hamstring injury which he sustained in training on Thursday.

On whether he will return against the Rams, Mowbray said in this morning’s press conference: “I’m not sure to be honest.

“Here we are on a Monday morning before training, he’s going to train today, and we will assess after training whether he’s going to be involved.

“He walked off training after 20 minutes on Thursday. He wanted to play on Saturday but yet you don’t walk off training on a Thursday and then are ready to go on Saturday.

“We’ll have to assess whether he can go again on Tuesday.

“Bradley will want to play, as he always wants to play. We need to make sure that if he’s going to be 100 per cent and give everything he’s got.

“After watching training and speaking to him, we will make that decision.”

Captain Charlie Mulgrew was forced off with an ankle injury against the Potters and replaced by Derrick Williams at half time.

Williams could be in line to keep his place should the Scotland international not deemed fit enough to take his place in the back four.

Asked if Mulgrew was more doubtful than Dack, Mowbray added: “Probably. Charlie has jarred his ankle a little bit in a challenge and we will have to make a decision on him.

“The call is whether to strap it up and send him out there, or do we give him another four days to recover.

“We’re okay in that position. I thought Derrick came on and did very well in the second half.

“We’ll assess it today. I haven’t sat down and definitively pick the team. We will train today, see how a few are in training and this afternoon sit with the staff and pick a team we feel will give us the best chance of a result.”
