FIVE Burnley players have been named in Mick McCarthy's first Republic of Ireland squad while Blackburn Rovers defender Derrick Williams is also included.
Clarets quintet Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady, Kevin Long and Stephen Ward, along with defender Jimmy Dunne - who is currently on loan at Sunderland - have all been named in a provisional party for Euro 2020 qualifiers away to Gibraltar and at home to Georgia.
Rovers defender Williams, who has one cap for his country, is also included in the 38-man squad which will be cut down on Sunday night.
His Ewood teammate Darragh Lenihan misses out through injury but former Accrington Stanley striker Padraig Amond, now at Newport County, has been called up for the first time.
Ireland visit Gibraltar on Saturday, March 23, before hosting Georgia in Dublin on Tuesday, March 26.
