Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the defeat at Brentford.

David Raya 5

Came for a ball that was never really his, as Watkins scored Brentford’s third. Had made an excellent save to deny Benrahma in the first half, but saw his run of clean sheets end in emphatic style.

Elliott Bennett 4

Troubled by the movement of the lively Benrahma and saw much of Brentford’s good play come down his side. Beaten a little too easily when one-on-one, but did have a hand in the Rovers opener.

Darragh Lenihan 5

Allowed Maupay to run off his shoulder too easily in the second half. Finished the game hobbling following a strong challenge.

Jack Rodwell 5

Missed a good chance in the first half from a header. Didn’t track Maupay closely enough for the fourth Brentford goal.

Amari’i Bell 5

Put in one good cross for a Graham chance, and almost scored with a hooked effort. The better of the two full backs.

Lewis Travis 5

Caught on the ball for the first goal, and endured his most difficult afternoon since breaking in to the team. Appeared to take a knock to the knee.

Corry Evans 5

Seemed short of his usual intensity, picking up a couple of knocks before being taken off. Caught on the ball too often as Brentford won the midfield battle.

Harrison Reed 5

An excellent delivery for Graham’s goal, and made a vital interception defensively in the second half. Didn’t make the most of some promising attacking positions.

Bradley Dack 6

Fired in his 14th goal of the season with a fine first time finish. Ended the first half hobbling after a poor challenge, and replaced 10 minutes after the break.

Adam Armstrong 7 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Looked Rovers’ most threatening attacker, coming up with another assist for Dack’s opener. Saw a free kick saved in the first half, as well seeing a shot deflected over.

Danny Graham 6

Scored a fine header, his 11th of the season, and saw a snap-shot flash wide. Was hampered by a back problem before being forced.

Subs

Craig Conway (for Dack, 52) 5

Conceded the free kick from which Watkins equalised.

Joe Nuttall (for Graham, 53) 5

One good chance, but saw the ball run away from him when played in.

Ben Brereton (for Evans, 61) 6

Showed a few nice touches and did link up well with Armstrong at times.
