We asked our Rovers fans' jury: If Charlie Mulgrew is fit for the Hull City game on Saturday, would you bring him back in to the side or stick with Jack Rodwell?

I haven't quite understood the recent hype regarding Jack Rodwell.

He's played well but I don't think his performances have been remarkable. He's hardly had the greatest test in Millwall and Ipswich too.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to come good as his quality precedes him and I admire someone making the most of a second chance but I'm yet to be convinced. He also looked very slow against the Ipswich front line.

I'd revert to Mulgrew taking back his role, not only for his defending but his leadership, set pieces and popularity with his team mates, although I think Lenihan is a better player alongside Rodwell as he revels in leading the back line.

I hope Rodwell can continue his development though and put pressure on our regular central defenders.

Jack Rodwell seems to have done a good job recently and helped us keep some clean sheets. He is versatile and could be moved into midfield if necessary.

Charlie Mulgrew is a competent centre-back, captain of the team and is a fine dead ball specialist regularly scoring vital goals.

Even if he is fit, I would have him on the bench against Hull as he could easily tweak his hamstring again and then be out for a considerable period of time.

Perhaps it's time to consolidate Rodwell's progress and show faith in his undoubted ability.

It’s a brilliant headache for Mowbray to have. Rodwell has been faultless in the past two league games, and if he’s left out it is very harsh.

He seems to be getting back to his best, and won’t be without his suitors if he decides he doesn’t want to extend his contract beyond the end of the season.

That being said, the danger Mulgrew offers from set plays means if he’s available then you really want him on the pitch.

In an ideal world I think you find a way to play them both. Mulgrew can no longer play full back however, and Mowbray insists that Rodwell won’t be deployed as a midfielder, and judging off his past two games at centre half you can see why.

Personally I’d like to see him continue with the Rodwell, Lenihan partnership. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

I do think Mowbray will revert to type though and play Mulgrew and Lenihan at the back.
