A date for Rovers’ FA Cup third round replay with Newcastle United has been set after the game was chosen for television coverage.

The match will be screened on BT Sport, with the game at Ewood Park now confirmed for Tuesday, January 15 (7.45pm).

The chances of the game being screened live were high, given only four of the third round ties went to replays.

Top flight side Watford await the winner of the tie, which went to a replay after a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park on Saturday. Bradley Dack opened the scoring with a 56th minute header, only for Matt Ritchie to equalise from the spot with six minutes remaining.

Rovers announced their ticket prices for the replay yesterday, with adults £10, concessions £5 and Under-18s £2 in all areas of the ground if bought in advance.

The club are hoping that will attract a bumper crowd for the game, in what will be a run of three consecutive home games after this weekend's trip to Millwall.

They host Ipswich Town in the league on January 19 and will either welcome Watford in the FA Cup, or Hull City in the league, depending on how they fare in next week's replay.
