ROVERS midfielder Willem Tomlinson has agreed a new one-year contract extension at the club.

The Academy graduate has seen his deal extended until the summer of 2019 having entered the final year of his previous deal.

Tomlinson follows fellow Academy graduates Scott Wharton and Ryan Nyambe in penning contract extensions with the club so far this year.

The 19-year-old has made one Checkatrade Trophy appearance for Rovers in 2017/18 having made his debut for the senior side in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in February.

He followed that up with another outing from the bench in the 1-0 win over Derby County on February 28 and will be looking to kick-on after signing his new deal.
