NEW signings can help a club. They can freshen the place up. They can add some competition.

That’s why it’s good that Paul Lambert has made a new addition in Elliott Bennett.

MORE TOP STORIES:

Elliott has played in the Premier League and he will put pressure on Ben Marshall, Craig Conway and Chris Taylor, the guys who are playing on the wings.

I know Elliott can operate in a number of different positions but I can see him playing on the right-side of midfield for Blackburn.

That may mean Ben Marshall dropping back to right-back but we know that is a position he can play very well in.

Adam Henley is our only right-back and you cannot expect him to play every game.

That’s why I can see a new attacking regime of Ben at right-back with Elliott or even Craig in front of him.

But whoever plays where, it’s clear we need to get players like Ben and Craig back in form.

It’s like any team in the world, if you’re main man is not scoring, the supporting cast have to step up. One or two others have to carry the can.

Blackburn are no different. So we need the likes of Craig and Ben to get their form back and help out because they can score goals and they can create goals.

Having had a little bit longer to prepare, with the FA Cup tie at Newport County being called off, hopefully we’ve had the chance to work on things and we’ll get something out of it tonight.

QPR, like ourselves, haven’t hit the heights in the last few weeks. It’s going to be a very interesting game.

We had longer to prepare for the Bolton match last month but that didn’t work out. Did the players under-estimate Bolton? I’m not sure. You look on paper and Bolton have got good players but they haven’t been doing anything and are sat at the bottom of the league.

QPR are in a better position but their results are not great either. We can beat them if we are right.
