I SAID last week it would be nice to put a cup run together and we started that with a good win at Charlton - but now it’s time to rediscover that league form.

We’ve let it slip a little in recent weeks and unfortunately have dropped a few points short of the play-offs, and at this stage of the season you don’t want to be losing too much ground on the top six.

Wolves will be a tough game, they are a good side, but it is one that is definitely winnable and we need to be getting the points at Ewood Park at this stage of the season.

They are directly above Rovers in the league and with a win we can go above them, so that is a huge opportunity for Gary Bowyer’s side.

It is the games against those teams in and around you in the league that you have to be winning, so this is a crucial fixture. To get three points and restrict your rivals to none would be great.

The win at Charlton will have given Gary a few selection headaches as well, which I’m sure he will be pleased to have. It will make a nice change from having players out injured and not having many options to choose from.

It shows there is a good squad there and that is something you need to compete in this day and age. The intensity is high and there are so many games that you will almost inevitably pick up injuries and need to rotate players.

I’m sure Gary would originally have been looking to bring a few in this month, but that isn’t really an option now and he will have been pleased that the players he gave an opportunity to at the Valley took it.

They have stood up and said ‘you don’t need anyone else, we can do the job’ and now he has some difficult decisions to make.

The fourth round draw has given Rovers a home tie with Swansea and it is a good draw. They will be underdogs against a Premier League side but you can play with a bit of freedom.
