PADIHAM can give their Evo-Stik League First Division North survival chances a real shot in the arm if they can take three points from struggling Wakefield tonight.

The Storks, in their first season at this level, sit five points clear of danger after picking up a point against Prescot Cables over the weekend.

But Wakefield currently occupy one of the two relegation positions and defeat for Padiham would drag them right back into danger.

Steve Wilkes’ side have not won since a Boxing Day triumph over Clitheroe, a run of eight matches, but can take heart from their performance on Saturday and the fact that their hosts have won just once at home all season.

At the other end of the table play-off chasing Ramsbottom can close to within one point of the top five if they can beat Harrogate Railway Athletic at home.

The Rams were beaten 2-0 by Cammell Laird at the weekend and will be keen to bounce back quickly if they are maintain their excellent run in form which has seen them lose just two of their last 12 games – both to Laird.
