BARNOLDSWICK Town claimed an impressive win at home to third-placed AFC Liverpool in the North West Counties Premier Division.

Barlick sit eighth in the table after the victory, which came despite being within a number of players through injury.

They went ahead after only three minutes as Kieran Fletcher’s header was blocked by a hand, and Mark Threlfall scored the resultant penalty.

AFC Liverpool levelled in the 28th minute when Ronnie Morgan was able to tap home from a yard.

But Barlick went back in front in the 74th minute when Sam Howell’s cross released Joel Melia, who fired a fierce shot into the net.
