NELSON recorded their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win at Runcorn.
Terry Fildes' re-vapmed side dominated the early proceedings and took the lead on 22 minutes when Ryan Cross scored with a spectacular shot from wide out on the right.
The Blues defence looked stronger than it has in previous weeks but they couldn't stop Runcorn grabbing an equaliser through Dave Cross on 55 minutes.
But the visitors bounced straight back and got what proved to be the winner four minutes later.
Chris Ridehalgh carved out the opportunity for debutant Paul Jones to blast his shot past the Linnets keeper.
l Nelson travel to Ramsbotton United tomorrow night.
