BURNLEY’S coffers were boosted by £800,000 after yesterday’s 4-2 win over Spurs pushed them above Hull City in the bottom three.
The Clarets will already be going down strong thanks to parachute payments, up to the value of £48million, which could be stretched over four years if proposed changes are voted in by the Premier League next month.
But Turf Moor chiefs will have their hand strengthened even further in the transfer market just by finishing in 18th place, with just one goal the difference between Burnley and the Tigers.
“We had an objective to try to get above Hull and it was important we did it,” said manager Brian Laws.
“The difference is £800,000. It may not sound a lot in the Premier League but it’s a hell of a lot of money to Burnley.”
