BURNLEY boss Brian Laws has stressed that David Edgar remains in his plans for the future after the defender joined Swansea City on loan until the end of the season yesterday.

Edgar was an unused substitute in Swansea's 5-1 loss at Blackpool last night after signing just hours earlier.

“I think it’s a great chance for David to get some games because he’s obviously frustrated. He wants to be in the team just as much as anybody else,” said Laws.

“I can’t fit him in at this moment in time but on the emergency loan it does allow us to recall him after 28 days.

“David is very much in our thoughts but I think getting him first-team games with Swansea, who are playing really good football and in a position where they are winning consistently, is a fantastic opportunity.

“I think it’s a win-win situation. We can only benefit from it and so will David.

"We will be keeping close tabs on him.”
