Phil Jagielka is training with Burnley – but is not believed to be a player that is on Sean Dyche’s wishlist this summer.
The 36-year-old left Everton in the summer after 12 years at Goodison Park.
The central defender, who has 40 England caps, is with the Clarets for the start of pre-season as he looks to maintain his fitness levels and prolong a career that started with Sheffield United.
It is not believed to be a situation where Jagielka is looking to impress and earn a contract at Turf Moor.
Burnley are not short of options in the centre of defence with James Tarkowski and Ben Mee having competition from Ben Gibson, Kevin Long and Jimmy Dunne who spent last season on loan with Hearts and Sunderland.
Jagielka, who made just seven Premier League appearances for Everton last season, has been linked with a move to both Celtic and Rangers.
