BURNLEY FC Women are holding a trial evening for players who are interested in joining the club’s first and reserve teams.

The trial will take place on Tuesday from 8-10pm at Nelson and Colne College, Scotland Road, Barrowford, Nelson, BB9 7YT.

Burnley successfully secured back-to-back promotions after finishing 13 points clear at the top of last season’s National league North, and next season the Clarets will play in the FA Premier Division – the third tier in the women’s football pyramid.

The club have taken massive strides forward both on and off the pitch in recent years, Burnley FC Women have huge ambitions and is looking for hard working, talented players to join the club and be part of this successful period.

Burnley’s Leah Embley was was named Player of the Season across tier four of the women’s game at The Women’s Football Awards in May at St George’s Park.

The women’s squad and coaching staff went on to parade the league trophy in Burnley’s final home game of the Premier League season against Arsenal.

Captain Jo Holt took the Clarets women squad around the pitch where more than 20,000 home supporters were in attendance at Turf Moor.

This is proof of the sort of success and recognition the club are currently getting.

The reserve squad is the final step of the development before players enter the first team.

The squad demonstrates a balance between experienced and young players progressing from the under 16s squad.

Burnley’s reserves look to replicate the playing styles of the first team to provide a smooth transition for players progressing in to higher leagues.

To attend the trial, you must register with the women’s first team manager Matt Bee.
